Dr. Ahmed Boraei received his Bachelor Degree in Medicine and Surgery from Cairo University in 1994. He started his career in obstetrics and gynaecology, in 1997. He travelled to the UK in 2001, where he progressed through his training, in various hospitals in England, Scotland and Wales.
In 2005 he spent two years as a research fellow In Ysbyty Gwynedd hospital in Wales and he simultaneously began his Post-Graduate studies in research, medical ethics and medico-legal matters. He was involved in a number of research projects and his presentation in the Glasgow Obstetrics and Gynaecology Society won him the Matt Carty silver medal in 2010. He has published and internationally presented much of his research projects.
In 2006 he obtained his membership in the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and continued his specialist training in Scotland. He completed 3 Advanced Training Skills Modules in Laparoscopy, Urogynaecology and Advanced Labour ward Practice between 2010 and 2011. He received his Certificate of Completion of training from the General Medical Council in the UK in the same year.
Dr. Ahmed has been working as a Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee, Scotland. He taught and gave lectures particularly in ethical and medico-legal issues, and was also an examiner in Dundee University.
Dr. Ahmed joined the IMC family as a Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2014. He is happy to offer his knowledge and expertise in the field of Urogynaecology, Pelvic Organ Prolapse and minimal access surgery to the unit. He is also privileged to be involved in the continued advancement of the labour ward practice with his colleagues.
He is married and has 3 children, and enjoys reading and baking in his leisure time.
