Dr. Abdul Rasheed’s work is based on the belief that people want to be happy, effective and successful in their lives and that they have within themselves the resources to achieve these goals. He believes that psychotherapy can help individuals most effectively use their resources to increase self-understanding, to improve decision-making, to solve problems, and to create paths to the lives they want.
He received his PhD, in Addiction Counseling from Westbrook University, USA in 1999. He received his Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology from the same university in 1997. His Bachelor’s Degree in Education was received from Georgia State University, USA in 1986 after his tour of duty in the USAir Force.
Dr. Abdul Rasheed is an active member of several professional organizations; including but not limited to: the American Association of Integrative Medicine, the American Psychotherapy Association and the World Federation of Mental Health.
Dr. AbdulRasheed’s experiences in the Middle East have been with several hospitals as a trainer of clinical personnel and therapist for patients and families. This includes Al-Amal Hospitals in Jeddah and Dammam, as well as Dr. Soliman Fakih Hospital.
Dr. Abdul Rasheed joined the International Medical Center as a Consultant of Psychotherapy in 2012, providing therapy to individuals and families. His specialties are clinical assessment for co-occurring disorders, psychotherapy for individuals and families, along with training and education in counseling techniques.
