Experts participated from twenty one countries performing live selected CTO and PCI complex cases
The 7th Middle East Coronary Chronic Total Occlusion conference (CTO) was held at Hotel Galleria by Elaf Jeddah in collaboration with the International Medical Center (IMC) in Jeddah, the Saudi Heart Association and the Saudi Heart Catheter Society.
Dr. Walid Hassan, Director of Cardiac Center and Senior Consultant of Interventional Cardiology at the IMC said: “the most outstanding feature of the conference is the live transmission of difficult and complex cases that are being simultaneously performed, in addition to the interactive scientific forums and specialized lectures, through which experts from across the Kingdom and twenty one countries around the world have shared their expertise with interventional cardiologists”.
Dr. Khaled Tammam, Conference Director and Associate Consultant of Cardiovascular and Interventional Cardiology at the IMC added that the number of participants this year exceeded one thousand doctor who were eager to acquire more skills in the treatment of Coronary Chronic Total Occlusion by catheterization, he also stated that the dream of becoming a reference and regional hub across the Middle East in the treatment of coronary occlusion has become true, as Japan has been previously the cardiologists’ sole destination in the same specialty.
During the conference, complex operations were successfully performed on a daily basis at the International Medical Center and specialized hospitals in the Kingdom such as the Prince Sultan Cardiac Center, hospital in other countries such as India, Turkey, Egypt and Bahrain. Experienced hands, with the help of the latest technologies, tools and instruments, have been working to achieve the highest success rates.
