In collaboration with the Ministry of Health, the International Medical Center has set up a Ramadan tent offering COVID19 vaccination to community as part of IMC’s CSR and national campaign to combat the spread of the evil virus.
While IMC enjoys a high rate of 95% vaccinated staff, and after recording an increased demand on vaccination appointment booking on Sehhaty App, the center has expanded its workspace graciously to increase its capacity and help advance the vaccination efforts by the government. The leading medical center has set up a large tent beside the center and increased the number of community service volunteers to 50. The IMC is considered one of the national campaign’s biggest vaccination centers where premium healthcare services are in perfect harmony with the special IMC health standards.
The IMC was able to set up the tent which spans over 2000 m2 and offers adequate space for 4000 beneficiaries in only 8 days since the decision has been made by the ministry. IMC staff at infection control, operations, pharmacy, laboratory, medical engineering, and IT departments alongside a group of doctors and nurses have all taken part in setting up the massive outdoor vaccination tent.
IMC Chairman and CEO, Walid Fitaihi said: “These efforts come in line with our responsibility towards community service and in support of the ministry’s national campaign to facilitate vaccination to each and every one who resides in Saudi Arabia”. Dr. Fitaihi also added: “Our sincere gratitude to the ministry for selecting IMC as one of the first certified centers in the western province to provide vaccination services, and for trusting IMC’s expertise and operational capacity to perfectly host one of the most important community service projects in Saudi Arabia. I also extend a warm gratitude to Jeddah Municipality for their cooperation and facilitation of all required licensing.”
Dr. Fitaihi has pointed out that with the additional capacity of this Ramadan vaccination tent, people can now see more open slots when they book vaccination appointments on Sehhaty App. He also mentioned that the tent will stay in service even after the end of the holy month.”
Dr. Nashaat S. Hamza, Director, Infectious Disease Consultant, Infectious Disease, Internal Medicine Department commented on this huge effort by IMC: “The center has been working relentlessly for over a year and half since the start of the pandemic to maintain a safe medical environment and has proudly received recognition.”
In regard to vaccine by Pfizer, Dr. Ali Saber, Pharmaceutical Care Director at IMC highlighted that IMC pharmacy prepares vaccines with the highest standards and by the hands of experts using the safest methods in special sanitized rooms. He noted that vaccines are kept in a perfectly temperature-controlled environment and the whole staff is cooperating internally to ensure this national effort becomes a great success.
