Dr. Walid Fitaihi, Chairman and CEO of the International Medical Center, obtained a Master's Degree in Islamic Thought from Beirut Islamic University in the subject of (Management of Wellness) on Thursday, March 5th, 2020. As a physician and founder of one of the leading and most prestigious healthcare entities in the Kingdom, Dr. Walid Fitaihi has dedicated nearly five years of research and practical involvement on the concept of Wellness.

The discussion committee said that this study would undoubtedly open new horizons for researchers, a topic that has not been addressed at any of the Arab and I world and its institutes before. The discussion committee's members of Beirut University professor expressed their profound admiration for the thesis in-depth and new of its kind topic upon granting Dr. Fitaihi his Master's Degree with distinction.

Dr. Fitaihi stated, "I made sure to delve deep into the topic of Wellness to present the concept of wellness management as a change program and lifestyle, and the aim of obtaining this degree was not merely part of my studies or for the sake of adding title to myself, for I hold several American Boards and Fellowships, but I wanted to pave the way to a new practical reality in the health care sector that reflects on human health and Wellness, moreover this study has already as a book that will be released soon and will be available to everyone under the title of (Wamahyaya 4 – the Management of Wellness).

Dr. Walid Fitaihi: "based on my experience in the field of health care as a doctor for nearly three decades, I have come to the conclusion that the real concepts of health and Wellness are not applied, which is why they have not been addressed in any previous study. And the way people look at medicine as merely treatment and surgery is far from the concept of holistic Wellness and that definition of health issued by the World Health Organization (WHO).

He explained, "The main problems of academic research lie in the absence of previous studies that provide a link between the concepts of Wellness in this world and Wellness in the hereafter. While the issue represents a life problem, most people are either unaware of the concept of health and Wellness in its absolute sense or are aware of some theoretical aspects of the theory or unable to apply it to their career life. This happens because our current lifestyle works against the means by which we can achieve Wellness.

Much of what we see, hear, eat, drink, and breathe, as well as our lifestyles are all obstacles in the way of achieving Wellness.

He explained, "The results and outputs of the study will be applied in practice. Indeed, it has already begun to crystallize as a vision and a mission for the International Medical Center. We also look forward to sharing it with all of our health care providers in both the governmental and private sectors in the Kingdom."
