Patient’s Rights and Responsibilities
As a patient, you and your family have the right to:

Know the name of the treating physician, the nurse and the assisting health-care team.

Receive considerate and respectful care in a suitable and private environment so that you can give a clear and concise explanation of your condition while ensuring full confidentiality and privacy of information relating to your medical condition and the prescribed treatment.

Obtain complete and current information about all the benefits and risks related to any medical procedures you may need to undergo, so that you can give your informed consent, and sign the necessary consent forms.

Accept or refuse the treatment plan proposed by your treating physician, and be informed of the medical consequences and possible risks of refusing treatment and signing a special form.

Have impartial comprehensive access to medical care at any time and under any circumstances without discrimination due to nationality, religion, gender or medical condition.

Participate in decisions involving your medical condition and treatment plan.

Receive effective diagnosis and treatment for your medical condition and appropriate assessment and management of your pain.

Meet with customer care representatives to voice your concerns or complaints at any time, and obtain information regarding proper procedures, and updates regarding the status of your complaint.

Request a medical consult from a consultant physician in accordance with the administrative and financial rules and regulations of the International Medical Center.
As a patient, it is your responsibility to:
- Review the regulations of the International Medical Center and ensure their implementation in accordance with the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Cooperate with the management of the International Medical Center in maintaining a smoke-free environment.

Be considerate of the rights of other patients and hospital staff.

Follow the treatment plan and recommendations given to you as a patient by the practitioner responsible for your care after receiving all the information and giving your informed consent. This may include following the instructions of nurses and the assisting health-care team.

Maintain hospital property from damage.

Commit to making all the required payments relating to the treatments or any other medical services you received.

Fill out all the necessary forms relating to surgical procedures or laboratory or radiology tests.

Fill out the “discharge against medical advice” form if you choose to leave the hospital before the treating physician recommends discharge.

Pledge to take all necessary precautions to prevent harm to others or to cause the transmission of any infectious diseases, ensuring that your family or those who could contract the disease are notified about your condition.

Provide your healthcare provider with accurate and complete information about your present condition, past illnesses, and other matters relating to your previous medical history.

Notify your treating physician of any health risks you are aware of that may occur suddenly or unexpectedly.

Respect the hospital’s visitation guidelines.

The International Medical Center condemns any form of violence committed against healthcare providers including any kind of verbal or physical harassment. These acts constitute a breach of the rights and personal dignity of healthcare providers.

As a patient I, or my family and visitors, guarantee not to use any photo/audio/video recording devices to show any of the hospital staff or any of its facilities without prior permission, ensuring not to engage in defamation or slander on social media either directly or indirectly in relation to the hospital or any of its employees. In case of any violation of these guidelines, the perpetrator will be held liable, and the hospital has the right to take the necessary measures.
