Telemedicine is a new branch of medicine that has harnessed the capabilities of teleconferencing technologies to provide patients more access to medical professionals. With telemedicine sessions, patients can speak to medical specialists, physicians, and other professionals about their medical concerns from the safety of their homes or other convenient locations. Moreover, the use of medical assistants and specially designed audio and video equipment allows the conferencing doctors to assess the patient's health as well.
Patients using E-Visits service spent only 15 – 20 minutes instead of physical visits, which take around 2 to 2.5 hours, including traveling, waiting at the clinic, etc.
a- Patients can book new and follow up appointments for tele consultation using the patient portal, call center and OPD reception.
b- Insurance patients can book an appointment using tele consultation.
c- Patients will be able to pay online for consultation and medications.
d- Patients’ arrival is automatically recorded when the Doctor starts entering the consultation details.
e- Doctors can order medications, laboratory services and any other services which are required using HIS.
Patients can book new and follow up appointments for tele consultation using the patient portal, call center and OPD reception.
Currently we are covering 174 IMC doctors from 64 specialties. Patients / Call Center / OPD reception will not be able to book an appointment if the clinic is not assigned for tele medicine consultation.
The service is limited to the clinic working hours.
Automated SMS will be sent to the patients 60 minutes before the scheduled appointment. Call Center and OPD Coordinators have the facility to manually resend the SMS to the patients at any time.
Once the patient clicks on the link received via SMS, patient will need to take few simple steps to check-in Dr’s Virtual Consultation Room.
Only physicians can initiate the call from his/her virtual consultation room as per the scheduled consultation.
Doctors have the flexibility to accept Tele Consultation anytime during his clinic session, if the patient does not show up online on the day of appointment it will be considered as no show.
Tele consultation can be accessed on any smartphone, laptops and desk computers, using a web browser. Our preferred browsers are Google Chrome, Safari and Firefox. However the physicians should have access to HIS to record the consultation details.
The patient can log in to the virtual waiting room by clicking the same link in SMS and doctor can re-initiate the call.
This is purely on patients discretion to enable/disable camera.
New patients can self-register through patient portal and follow the tele consultation booking process.
Yes, the patient will only pay co-payment if the insurance policy is updated in the system.
The patients will pay the same for tele consultation as in regular OPD visits.
As per CCHI policy, patient is entitled to have only one new tele consultation and one follow up tele consultation during the month.
The Pharmacy will deliver the medications to the patients at a nominal delivery charges of 25 SR, In-case of medication exceeding the amount of 400 SR, the delivery will be free of charge.
Patients can cancel the appointment using the portal or by calling the call center before the appointment. However, refund will be done by finance department and the amount will be transferred back to the patient’s bank account.
